On simulation-based probabilistic model checking of mixed-analog circuits

چکیده
In this paper, we consider verifying properties of mixed-signal circuits, i.e., circuits for which there is an interaction between analog (continuous) and digital (discrete) values. We use a simulation-based approach that consists of evaluating the property on a representative subset of behaviors and answering the question of whether the circuit satisfies the property with a probability greater than or equal to some threshold. We propose a logic adapted to the specification of properties of mixed-signal circuits in the temporal domain as well as in the frequency domain. We also demonstrate the applicability of the method on different models of ∆−Σ modulators for which previous formal verification attempts were too conservative and required excessive computation time. Modeling and Simulation of Substrate Noise in Mixed-Signal Circuits Applied to a Special VCO
The mixed-signal circuits with both analog and digital blocks on a single chip have wide applications in communication and RF circuits. Integrating these two blocks can cause serious problems especially in applications requiring fast digital circuits and high performance analog blocks. Fast switching in digital blocks generates a noise which can be introduced to analog circuits by the common su...

Behavioral Model Equivalence Checking for Large Analog Mixed Signal Systems. (May 2011) Amandeep Singh, B.E., Punjab Engineering College, India Chair of Advisory Committee: Dr.Peng Li This thesis proposes a systematic, hierarchical, optimization based semi-formal equivalence checking methodology for large analog/mixed signal systems such as phase locked loops (PLL), analog to digital convertors...
متن کاملAdvanced Property Specification for Model Checking of Analog Systems
In this contribution we present an advanced approach to property specification of analog systems and its benefits for model checking. Based on known concepts for time constrained model checking of analog circuits, we introduce a new specification language called Analog Specification Language (ASL) and the related methodology for specifying complex properties of analog circuits in a designer-ori...
متن کاملMOCA ARM: Analog Reliability Measurement based on Monte Carlo Analysis
Due to the expected increase of defects in circuits based on deep submicron technologies, reliability has become an important design criterion. Although different approaches have been developed to estimate reliability in digital circuits and some measuring concepts have been separately presented to reveal the quality of analog circuit reliability in the literature, there is a gap to estimate re...
